We do not design trips to other destinations outside of Spain (and Spain and Portugal), because Spain is truly our expertise. We are professional Spain destination specialists who can help you plan and design the trip that is perfect for YOU through our various Spain travel services.

The internet is full of travel blogs, travel groups (we even run a Travel Spain! Facebook community), videos, and pretty photos. And of course there are wonderful travel guidebooks. Those are all great resources to get ideas and get started, but we work with you to take it to a whole new level and customize trips based on your unique interests, travel style, timeframe, and budget. We design trips to send you to places in Spain that we know you will LOVE at a comfortable pace that fits your travel style.

With 20+ years in the professional travel industry, travel is not only our passion, but more importantly it is our professional expertise. We have access to a wide array of hotels, tour guides, unique experiences and more to fully customize your dream trip to Spain!

Through our varying levels of services, we offer professional Spain travel planning help for every type of traveler.

Yes and no.

For our itinerary service, our clients generally have travel budgets in the four or five star range.

We customize every itinerary and recommend top-notch local private tour guides, unique experiences, and more.

But, for our consultation services we can generally work with most travel budgets.

That depends on the level of service you choose.

Our mini consults are purely one-offs. They do not include any follow up support or additional information after the call.

Our full consultations are one-off calls that include follow up notes/a personalized Spain travel guide after the call as well as limited email support after the call.

But our Spain travel itinerary service is project-based with on-going support throughout the travel planning process.

Because we are a small team, our services do not include urgent on-the-ground support while you are in Spain

However our itinerary clients are more than welcome to email us while they are traveling and we will get back to them as soon as we can, during our regular working hours.

We also give all our clients important contact numbers in case of an emergency (such as relevant embassies, tourist police, etc).

Since we don’t book anything, we can not be responsible for changes or mishaps and in those events, we believe it is best to go to the source (ie the hotel, tour operator, booking system).

Yes. The fees you pay Spain Less Traveled are for us to help you plan your trip. You are paying for our expertise, experience, and professional Spain travel knowledge.

The cost of the trip is not included in our planning fees.

Please remember that we do not book anything on your behalf, so you will not book your trip or pay for any of its components through us.

For our full consulting and mini consulting services, we charge a per session flat rate.

Since every itinerary is unique, our itinerary service is proposal based.

That all depends on your budget, how much of the work you want to do yourself verses how much you want us to do for you.

If you have any questions or need any clarification, we offer a complimentary 15 minute discovery call to help choose the right service for you.

That depends on which service you choose.

For our itinerary service, we recommend a lead time of at least two months. Many clients contact us 9-12 months in advance of their departure.

For our consultation services, we can work with you for just about any stage of trip planning. Even for last minute advice. For full consultations, it can take us up to 14 days to get the notes/personalized Spain travel guide to you, but you will still get a lot out of the call (and we do offer a rush service)

And since mini consults are “one and done” we can work with clients departing at any time, even those who are leaving very soon or are currently on the ground in Spain!

No!

Spain Less Traveled is not a guided tour company. You will not be in a big bus touring Spain with a group of strangers on a cookie-cutter itinerary. All of our itineraries are customized just for you based on your unique interests, timeframe, travel style, and budget.

We really do plan individualized dream trips to Spain!

Yes. You will be traveling independently.

We work with local tour guides for unique experiences, walking tours, day trips, etc. But for the most part, you will be on your own with a fully customized itinerary.

We are not a traditional travel agency in that regard where we can book stand alone flights, accommodations, and tours.

When we have availability, we can include an option for our Spain travel itinerary clients to make the bookings on their behalf for a premium fee. For those clients, we can book their hotels, tours, tour guides, train tickets, domestic flights, attraction tickets, etc.

We do not book international flights to and from Spain, but can refer our clients to our air-only partners (who charge a separate fee) for assistance with booking international airfare.

Yes!

We are true Spain experts and we think it’s better to stay focused and niche than be “jack-of-all-trade” travel planners.

We have built up professional relationships with Spain based travel operators. Our network is large and expands across Spain (a big country).

For clients continuing on to Portugal, France, Italy, Morocco, the UK, Ireland or many other countries outside of Spain, we can put you in touch with our partners that specialize in these destinations.

Spain is our passion and our professional expertise. We believe by maintaining this niche, we can really focus on creating perfect trips to Spain.

Yes, absolutely!

Since the majority of our services are for self-bookers, we are happy to work with you if you prefer Airbnbs/VRBOs etc.

We can help you identify neighborhoods and location to scope out properties.

Since our services are for self-bookers, you can book and pay for the hotels however you choose.

We are a leisure travel planning company providing advice for short-term travel.

Relocation is a whole different ballgame and we are not in that business.
